POWER, PASSION, & POSITIONING
March 8th - 9th, 2017
This quarter we launched our Campus Partnerships Program in the Greater Washington, DC Area.Campus Partnerships allows us to target local Colleges and Universities in effort to bring resources, materials, and course work offerings under the She Owns It discipline.
We launched two events in March, the first at Howard University followed by one at American University, where we were able to connect with roughly 40 young women on campus. In our opening course, She’Neil and Brittani, went into classrooms and taught Power, Passion, & Positioning: Turning Dreams into Dollars, based on a self-guided workbook created by the team.
Thanks to the support of our community partners and sponsors, we were able to provide dinner, refreshments, course workbooks, and create thinking supplies for our girls. We are excited to continue our Campus Partnerships Program, and are working to target Georgetown, George Washington, and the University of the District of Colombia, in the Fall.
PARTY WITH A PURPOSE
January 28th, 2017
In late January, our community partner Jamika Whitehead, Realtor & Philanthropist, hosted Gifts & Giving: Party with a Purpose in honor of her birthday celebration. Her Success, Inc., was selected as her charity of choice for the event, and all proceeds/donations from the event went on to directly impact operations & the mission of Her Success.
Thanks to the generous efforts of Jamika, her attendees, and local supporters, our organization was able to accept a donation of roughly $700 at the end of the weekend! The Founders not only attended the event and loved the networking, but were floored by the contribution.
Big hugs and lots of love for Jamika!
December 27th, 2016
Special thanks to our friends, family, and community partners in the Tidewater Area who joined us this past December for our Winter Fundraiser and Warm Clothing Drive. Her Success, Inc. went out into the community to host a Dine-to-Donate night at Applebee’s and attendees were encouraged to bring new and gently used warm clothing.
Through the support of the community, Her Success, Inc. was able to raise $100 and roughly 250 pounds of warm clothing which was donated to benefit women & children of the Samaritan House in Hampton Roads.
